THE DEVICE YOU NEED IN AN EMERGENCY
We set the Benchmark for the industry
Once activated, an EPIRB will continuously transmit a specific encoded radio signal on 406 MHz capable of detection by COSPAS/SARSAT satellites throughout the world whilst simultaneously transmitting a 121.5 MHz homing signal.
Following activation and satellite detection, the emergency location and specific beacon data can then be relayed to the appropriate search authorities. EPIRBs are registered with the relevant rescue authority and following activation a registered EPIRB will provide the rescue authority with the owner and emergency contact details.
EPIRB registration is a MUST as it greatly enhances a rescue and shortens response times.
One of the most important pieces of safety equipment available to any outdoor enthusiast, an EPIRB is often the last line of defence when all other means of self rescue have failed.
KTI manufacture a complete range of EPIRB devices to suit all outdoor applications.
Kinetic Technology (KTI) has been designing and manufacturing EPIRBs for over 20 years in Melbourne Australia. KTI specialises in designing and developing beacons for commercial and military use.
KTI has ceased operations. Battery replacement, re-coding and other services are no longer available. Warranty claims can only be processed via your retailer. Most Self-Test problems arise from incorrect product testing. For Self-Test instructions please refer to the instruction manual or our Q&A pages. The Cospas-Sarsat system is not controlled by beacon manufacturers – your KTI beacon remains fully compatible with the Cospas-Sarsat system after KTI factory closure.
